The Inbetween
One of the most vulnerable places we can be in life is the inbetween. The inbetween is where the questioning and where that dreadful fear of the unknown take place. The inbetween is messy. Worrying and wondering can become all encompassing. However, God meets us in the inbetween.
I don’t know about you, but right now I feel like I’m in the thick of the inbetween. Some days I feel like I can handle all of the craziness that comes my way and then other days I feel lost in my worry, my doubt, and my fear. There are times where I feel like my strength after so much heartache is finally being restored. Then in the blink of an eye I feel paralyzed and like I am about to enter into a downward spiral. I can feel as if I have nothing left to give. But do you want to know what is so beautiful about those moments? God meets us there. He doesn’t care if you have the words to pray or just simply the tears to cry. Those tears can become some of your sweetest offerings.
God doesn’t need a well thought out prayer to move. Sometimes just resting in the mighty presence of our God can be the thing that changes everything. When we truly rest in the presence of God we are choosing to surrender and let go of all our anxieties. We are choosing to trust an unknown future to a known God. That release of control is when the breakthroughs start to happen.
God knows your every thought before you even think it. Those things you are in the middle of worrying about…He has them all figured out and He is preparing you for the answer to your heart’s deepest desire. So while you may be just like me and feel overwhelmed by the inbetween, God is already preparing the way.
While this time in your life may be uncertain, raise a hallelujah even then. Raise a hallelujah through every fear, every storm, and every doubt. Ask God to meet you in the fight, in the questioning, and in the struggle because sweet friend, He already has and He will continue to do so! Rest in His presence and most importantly, rest in His promises because He is a promise keeper. “The Lord is faithful to ALL His promises and loving to ALL He has made.”
